Things I missed during pregnancy
This was a post that I put together and then forgot to publish a while ago...
In celebration of my scar being healed, I had a bath.
It wasn't a fancy bath.No bubbles or smelly oils.
But...
It was the first bath that I'd had in months. Ew yuck! I can hear you think it. But you're wrong if you think I smell in any way awful. I am a hygiene freak, which means that I shower twice a day without fail. I cannot get into bed without first washing my feet. But there again, I suppose some things are totally irrelevant. The joy of the bath got me going on the things that I had been missing for a while, and the relief at having some of them back. So here's the list:
Things I missed...
1. My toes... I've found them again! And they're still toes.
How could anyone expect to see past this..?
2. Sleep: believe it or not, I'm getting more sleep now that Bean is born.
3. I can't remember ... oh, right. My memory, which I'm still not expecting back any time soon.
4. Owning my own body. Okay, I owned my arms and legs, but Bean totally took over my torso and brain.
5. Being able to watch an entire t.v. programme in one sitting. I can do it! Yes, I no longer have to pause Netflix mid-word to scoot off to the loo when someone danced on my bladder. And if we cuddle with Bean during a show, and bring along a bottle or breast, we can even watch two episodes.
Well, it's time to go change a nappy...
