Oh, the dread of nappies

Picture it...

Number 1 is 15 years old.

Number 2 is 8 years old.

And now we await the arrival of Bean, any time between now and the end of the month...

In preparation for Bean's arrival, I am having to face starting with nappies all over again.  It has been a few years since I last had to change a nappy, and it isn't something that I miss doing.

I'd have a rant, but it is pointless fighting against the inevitable.  Simply put, I prefer nappies to baby poop.

Mr Stubbles has been a super star... he started building a collection of nappies from the time we found out that we were pregnant. Bags of nappies started to take over every spare spot of space in our bedroom, until we eventually gave them a semi-permanent abode... and the pile continues to grow.

I find the tower of nappies quite intimidating.

Mr Stubbles and I decided it might be a good idea to get a bit of practice in.

Since Bean is his first, he hasn't felt the need to change a nappy before... it was a great learning experience and we even managed to rope in one of Number 2's teddy bears.

From the look on Bear's face, he was an unwilling victim rather than volunteer.

Disposable nappy and wet wipes at the ready, thus began Nappy Changing 101.

Mr Stubbles is a great student. After a few tries, he had the nappy positioned and secured correctly. Even though Bear still looked rather unimpressed, and a tad humiliated, after the lesson was done.

The challenge, of course, will come when we have a screaming, crying, very grumpy, squirmy Bean to in need of a clean bottom. Hopefully, he'll like nappies more than Bear does.
