The most awesome announcement!

Our little Bean arrived on 14 July 2017

Bean made his appearance at 35 weeks, after a surprise 3am visit to the bathroom when my water broke. So we took a spur of the moment trip to the labour ward/ theatre to celebrate him joining us, knowing that the staff there would probably be the only people in the city that would be keen to join the party at that time.

Fortunately for me, there was no long and involved labour. Rather a quick C-section, and then everything was right with the world once more.

Besotted

Bean entered the world, weighing in at 3.2kg's, 48cm long, and has been charming us with his burpy smiles, and I believe that my heart has grown again to enfold him in motherly love. That could just be my crazy side talking though.

After a few days in the NICU, Bean joined my in the ward and the fun really started, and after two more days, we made it home.

He and Mr Stubbles share the same hairstyle... But there is a definite family resemblance happening there.

Number 1's teenage indifference has swiftly fallen away, to be replaced with sweetly gentle looks, and the occasional all-elbows cuddle.



Number 2 is doing awesome big-brother duty, doing his homework next to the cot, so that I can make trips to the rest of the house to check on everything in general.
