Stationary stationery

Another post that I forgot to publish. Shoudl have been in January...

School has not even started and I already feel the need to apologise to my sons' 2019 teachers.

I try to be a good Mommy... I endeavour to ensure that they wash their hair, brush their teeth, eat wholesome regular meals, and wear clean clothes and underwear every day. I try to make them eat healthy school lunches. I try to get them leave in time for school every day.

2018 was a crazy year and I just couldn't think about anything for 2019 until I had reached the end of the year.

To start our 2019 and restore some sanity, we spent a few days in the berg. That, tied in with the fact that schools start ridiculously early this year, meant that I had minimal time to get school stationery organised for Number 1 and Number 2. Add to that the crowds of people and my rather large wheelchair, I just couldn't face going to the shops in person... so I resorted to going online and shopping there instead.

After spending 2 hours tracking down each item on their very specific stationery lists, I hit the "go" button and proceeded to the checkout section, only to discover that the parameters had changed... The entire way through, the site had offered a 3-7 day delivery. At the last moment, there was a notification that read that they were under some pressure and delivery would be upped to 7-10 days.

Having exhausted my limited energy supply hunting down everything they needed, there was no possible way that I could start again on another site or take my weary body down to the physical shop so here is my apology to my sons' teachers:

I am sorry that my children will arrive at school on the first day with no stationery. As soon as it arrives, I promise that we will cover their books and mark each item individually with their names and send it all to school.

I have a feeling that we may not be getting off on the best foot for the school year, but I promise to do my best. As I have done throughout their schooling careers.

Update: After numrous phone calls and emails, my sons' school supplies were eventually delivered a month after school started having been sent from Durban (where we live) to Johannesburg and back. Never again will I buy from this store online.
