First Fathers Day
I have to be honest... the My father is SO great posts on facebook got to be too much for me. I kind of felt like telling people to just tell their fathers Happy Fathers Day, rather than posting it on FB. I know your Dad is great, so is mine... but really? Just tell him straight. On the other hand, I quite enjoyed seeing the photos of what people had done with their dads, that was cool. And along with the rest of the country, we too celebrated the special Dads in our lives.
Fathers Day sarted with a secret shopping trip with Number 1 and 2 to Musgrave in search of a special something for our man. Eventually, we settled on nuts and columbian filter coffee for him to enjoy at leisure.
Our Fathers Day started out early as we headed off to Blue Zoo at Mitchell Park to treat Grandpa and Daddy to breakfast. Unfortunately, Grandpa wasn't feeling too well, but he was there with us for breakfast, which was awesome.
Having eaten our fill and dosed up on tea and coffee, the boys, Daddy, and I headed off to the park and then to the zoo to introduce Bean to the animals.
It was Bean's first experience of grass.. and his initial reaction was to cry and seek refuge from Daddy... not such a great start. He definitely didn't like his first feel of it. After a few attempts at exposure, he started to find the soft but prickly surface at tad more interesting, especially after he discovered a stick to chew on.
He was only really interested in the ducks and geese walking freely around. He has a thing for ducks, so getting to see the real thing quacking away was his highlight.
Number 1 had a bonding session with a cockatoo, and Number 2 enjoyed gleaning as many facts as he could on all the animals from the info boards, so he enjoyed all the creatures.
I think Daddy enjoyed being spoiled for Fathers Day. So I'd call it a success.
I enjoyed feeling normal, and the sunshine.
I enjoyed being a family.
